Sand for life
No matter where you are, minerals surround you, and it is the extremely varied properties of minerals that enable such a wide variety of applications. Just look around you and you'll se minerals in use everywhere.
Lots of minerals in your home...
In the home
If we look a little closer around the home we can say that it would have been a lot emptier if minerals did not exist - it would also have been very grey! Procuct development for paint began around 30,000 years ago when our forefathers began painting on cave walls, using talc and feldspar to thicken paint. Not only did they leave their paintings behind, they also showed us how different types of minerals affect the character of paint. Wollastonite, for example, can be used to reinforce paint and prevent cracks forming. Iron oxide is used mainly to prevent rust, while bauxite is used to make paint resistant to wear (and it can be used for anti-skid material).

You are bound to have drinking glass in your kitchen, but your windows and mirrors also contain glass. Glass comprises up to 70% quartz, but quantities vary according to the type of glass being produced - windowpanes, crystal, wine bottle or fibreglass.
Minerals are all over your bathroom! Your bath is made of minerals, whether it's plastic or ceramic. The tiles on the wall are made of mineral, as is the cement holding them up. Your taps are forged using sand, and so are the pipes. And if you use a softener to keep your towels nice and soft, that's achieved using minerals, too.
Electronic devices contain minerals. In your TV alone thera may be up to 30 different minerals. All the elctric equipment in your home requires minerals to be safe. Electrical cables, for example, are covered with minerals to make them fire resistant and watertight.
Outside your home, the roof felting and roof tiles are based on minerals. Roof felting, for example may contain Fajalit, while the colour of your roof tiles varies according to different minerals who give them special qualities.
In the garage
Virtually everything in your car is mineral-based. Minerals ensure that driver and passengers are seated safely, that the bonnet gleams, the enginge turns, the window give a clear view and that your tires stay in trim. Minerals help keep the driver environment pleasant and quiet with minimial vibration and distraction. Sand is used to forge the engine bloc, while brake linings are made of vermiculite. It's very simple, without minerals you wouldn't have a car!
In the garden
Your lawn deserves a good lawn dressing every now and then. Fertilizer contains minerals, and zeolite, for example, is used on golf courses to increase oxygen levels in the soil while also helping to both retain and drain water. If you have a pond in your garden you can seal it in an eco-friendly way with bentonite, a clay that can expand by up to 700%. You might also have gravel or paving slabs, while you may decorate your flowerbeds and pots with granite in varoius colours. Maybe you have a sandpit for your children?
Not only in the bunkers!
You'll find our products away from home and work. In the leisure sector, golf courses are our largest activity, but we also supply products for other sports, such as artificial football pitches, beachvolley-ball courts, horse riding centres and playgrounds (EU-approved and soft to fall on!)
